Scott Frost plays Nebraska's victim again while pretending to take the high road

Scott Frost gave another interview where he couldn’t help circling back to Nebraska—and blaming others.

Like Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, Scott Frost just can’t quit Nebraska football. Rather, he can’t quit talking about the Cornhuskers. He doesn’t need to quit them since he was fired after losing to lowly Georgia Southern.

During Frost’s first press conference of the year as head coach of UCF for the second time, the former Husker quarterback and coach felt the need to complain about the level of cooperation he got from ex-Nebraska AD Trev Alberts.

Scott Frost still won’t let go of his Nebraska football past

Now in a new interview with ESPN’s Andrea Adelson, the former Nebraska football head coach indirectly talked about his old job, even while claiming he would never talk about. Frost, as he’s known for doing, spoke around the Huskers in a way that made it clear he was complaining about his time in Lincoln.

Of course, he also told Adelson he had “no regrets” about leaving UCF for Nebraska back in 2017. Just a few sentences later, he expressed regrets about leaving Orlando the first time. Perhaps, he just doesn’t understand the meaning of some of the words he uses?

“I was so happy here," Frost said about the Knights. "We went undefeated and didn't get a chance to win a championship, at least on the field. You are always striving to reach higher goals. I had always told myself I wasn't going to leave here unless there was a place that you can legitimately go and win a national championship. It was a tough decision because I didn't want to leave regardless of which place it was."

Frost also tends to blame other people for his failures, while pretending he’s taking responsibility. He did that in the latest interview too, blaming unnamed “people” for pushing him to coach the Cornhuskers.

"I think I kind of knew that wasn't best for me. It was what some other people wanted me to do to some degree."

It makes sense that Frost regrets taking the Nebraska football job. After all, he was awful here. It didn’t become clear just how awful until he was gone. Here’s hoping UCF never has to one day hear about all the people that caused him to fail there.
