While the Nebraska football team has been on a bit of a losing streak when recruiting the last few months, what better way to turn it around than to steal a commit away from the Miami Hurricanes? That’s exactly what the Huskers will try and do on September 7.

That date just happens to be the night of NU’s game against the Colorado Buffaloes. It’s also shaping up to be a pretty massive recruiting weekend. Add Carol City linebacker Jordan Campbell to the list of guys Matt Rhule and the gang will be wooing.

Campbell is currently a commit to the Miami Hurricanes, but the 4-star 2026 linebacker is starting to look around a little bit. Nebraska football is hoping it can find a way to pry him loose from the commitment he gave to the ‘Canes back in November of 2023.

Campbell is the sixth-ranked linebacker in the 2026 class and the 14th-ranked player in his class from the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Should the Huskers manage to pull it off and flip Campbell. He would be the second Miami commitment to flip to Nebraska in the last year. Linebacker Vincent Shavers made the move to Lincoln on Early Signing Day after visiting the program the weekend before.

It’s possible that the Cornhuskers will benefit from the Colorado game being such a big recruiting weekend. In addition to Campbell, they’ve already locked in visits with 2026 four-star quarterback Michael Clayton and 2026 four-star running back Kayden Jones among others. More recruits will almost certainly be added to that list in the coming weeks.

While the Nebraska football program would obviously love to flip Campbell on the weekend to visit, this is obviously more about laying good groundwork, considering it’s still going to be quite a while until he can sign on the bottom line.
