Despite having a bit of a roster crunch, the Nebraksa football team isn’t quite finished with the 2024 recruiting cycle. In fact, Matt Rhule and company could have a few more tricks up their sleeve.

Already ranked 18th in the 247Sports composite rankings, there is a chance the Huskers could steal a few more commits today, the final National Signing Day for the 2024 class. Even better news is that Tony White and his crew look like they’ve added some serious talent to a defensive roster that was already among the best in the country.

Things will be officially official in a few hours but recruiting experts around the country believe the Nebraska football is getting a heavy lean from both defensive lineman Keona Wilhite and defensive back Kahmir Prescott.

Keona Wilhite recruitment has been quite the saga

Of the two prospects, the Arizona 3-star prospect has been much more of a rollercoaster ride. He signed his National Letter of Intent with Washington back in December, but then was let out of it when Huskies head coach Kalen Deboer took the same job with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Wilhite has alternatively looked like a lock for Nebraska, to a lock for UCLA and then back to a lock for the Huskers over the last week. Most recently, it’s appeared that Bruins head coach Chip Kelly’s lack of interest in staying with the school has crystallized things for Wilhite.

The recruitment of Kahmir Prescott has had some twists and turns, but it hasn’t been quite the soap opera that Wilhite has been to Nebraska Cornhuskers fans. Prescott was once committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, but decided he didn’t want to sign there in December.

The Nebraska football team moved in and did some work, and now it appears that when he does sign on the dotted line, the 3-star safety will come to Lincoln soon after.
