There are few Nebraska football rivals, both old and new, that I dislike more than Colorado. It would take too long to explain exactly why I dislike them but suffice it to say, they’ve earned it. Likewise, there are few rival coaches in the college football world I dislike more than Deion Sanders.
It doesn’t take long to explain why I dislike “Coach Prime.” He’s a preening, egotistical person who cares very little for the kids he coaches unless he believes they can get him somewhere. And once they get him somewhere, he’s done with them. See Dabo Swinney as another type of person like this.
Nebraska football rival coach claims he’s staying but no one really believes him
Sanders’ personality and the way he carries himself and leads his program is one of the reasons why the Colorado Buffaloes head coach has a credibility problem. And it’s why when he’s asked if he’s in it for the long haul in Boulder, no one believes the answer is yes.
It’s also why he keeps getting asked that question.
He was asked the question again earlier this week by FootballScoop and he once again gave an answer that rabid Buffs fans will likely take at face value. They shouldn’t. I don’t like y’all that much, but you should still take this warning from me: Deion Sanders is almost certainly not going to be at Colorado past 2025.
Even if he claims he is:
"It's on me, how long I want to do it, and my tank is full. My tank is full. I'm full. I'm behind F. I'm leaning behind F (on a gas tank) I'm so full. And I love it."
For me personally, I expect his tank to behave like a gas guzzler. Once his kids are no longer at Colorado, he’ll be gone as well. And that’s why I can’t wait to see the Nebraska football team take him down this fall. A going away present, if you will.
