Nebraska football RB commit demonstrates exactly why Huskers nabbed him

Connor Booth showed he's got the explosiveness to be an impact player for the Nebraska football team when he gets there.

Conor Booth might not be one of the most highly touted commitments in the Nebraska football team’s 2025 class, but he showed on Friday night that he does have the talent to play at the FBS level. In fact, he showed that more teams probably should have come calling before he shut down his recruitment.

Booth likely did not get the attention he deserves because he plays at Class C Bishop Neumann. However, he put up some stats for his school that show he might be similar to a Carter Nelson in what he can do at the next level, even if he jumpstarts the career at a much-ignored spot.

On Friday night, second-ranked Bishop Neumann took on No. 5 Wahoo and the Nebraska football commit put his team on his back in a big way. He exploded for both yards and touchdowns.

Booth’s team took down the Top 5 team thanks to the running back putting together the kind of game you just don’t see anymore. On the night he ran for a whopping 381 yards. If that wasn’t enough, he also tied a Class C record with 8 total touchdowns.

It does, of course, make sense that someone like Booth would need to have a game like this to get on the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ radar in the first place. Even if he didn’t have these kinds of stats, he’s demonstrated the ability to put a game like this together.

Now, the Nebraska football team will be able to sit back and watch what else he does for the rest of this season. Just a few days ago, he said he wasn’t listening to any more sales pitches. It’s early in the season, but it seems likely he’ll have a few more eye-popping games before his senior season is over.
