Nebraska football on verge of nabbing former Oklahoma commit

The Sooners' loss appears to be Nebraska football's gain after a long quiet period on the recruiting front.

It’s going to be a while before the Nebraska football team meets Oklahoma on the football field. That doesn’t mean the two programs won’t face off against one another. The fight will be more in the recruiting landscape than anywhere else.

The two teams have already faced off for one of the best wide receivers in the 2025 class. OU emerged victorious, at least for now, in the fight for Cortez Mills. That despite the fact that the Huskers worked hard to flip the Florida native just a few weeks ago.

Now the Nebraska football team is trying to show OU how much it stings to lose a fight like this, by swooping in an nabbing a prospect who was committed to Oklahoma until just a few days ago. Ka’Mori Moore is a defensive tackle out of Lee's Summit (Mo.) North who is now a free agent.

Moore announced on social media earlier this week that he’d decided not to stick by his pledge to the Sooners. Almost immediately recruiting analysts all over the industry predicted the 6-foot-1, 295 pound 3-star prospect was headed to the Huskers.

It’s not hard to see why Moore might be leaning towards NU now. He was coached by now-Nebraska assistant Jamar Mozee and is teammates with 2025 #Huskers four-star WR commit Isaiah Mozee.

Considering how quickly things can move in the recruiting world, it seems likely that the Huskers could end up getting a commit by the end of the weekend. However, he will need to visit Lincoln and see what the school has to offer beyond a rebuilding football team.

Moore had been committed to Oklahoma since July of 2023. He is considered a three-star prospect by both 247Sports and On3 and currently holds offers from Michigan State, Iowa State, and Miami (Ohio) in addition to the Nebraska football program.
