With their quarterback recruit for the 2025 class locked up, the Nebraska football team has been working overtime to land the guy who will be signing as part as the 2026 class. NU has been putting quite a few feelers out there over the last few weeks and it's not clear just who Matt Rhule and company see as the top target.

What could be clear from the Nebraska football approach to quarterback in the 2026 class is that the Huskers are casting their net far and wide. One signal-caller they seem rather intent on landing is none other than Dylan Raiola's brother Dayton.

However, in the last few days, another big time target has emerged. Rees Wise looks like a quarterback target that offers a little something different than what Dayton could at the position.

Nebraska football locks down visit with new quarterback target

Rees Wise took to social media his schedule this summer and where he's going to be camping over the next few months. There are currently four schools that are getting the change to show the dual-threat quarterback what they have to offer.

In addition to Nebraska, Wise is taking in Texas A&M, Texas, and TCU. He'll be taking the campuses in starting on June 9 when he takes in College Station and the Aggies. Then on June 14 hes coming to see Lincoln and the Huskers.

He's visiting Texas on June 20 and then wrapping up the quartet of visits with TCU on July 25.

The June 14 date just happens to be the start of what's going to be a lot of visits in a two week period, though most of those will be 2025 recruits that can sign with a team this December.

With 2025 quarterback TJ Lateef already in the boat, it's no wonder the Huskers are going after Wise. In his sophomore season, he threw for 1,877 yards, 21 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions. He also did damage on the ground, rushing for 472 yards and 11 TDs.

Of course, Rees Wise is just one of the 2026 quarterbacks the Nebraska football team is going after. It will be interesting to see how things shape up with him, Dayton Raiola and Semaj Beals.
