Nebraska football takes bold leap towards future with new quarterback offer
Imagine the Nebraska football program suddenly being the place where the best quarterbacks in the country are beating down the door. Being QBU seems a lot more likely than it used to just a few years ago.
The Huskers are on the verge of awakening a dormant powerhouse as Dylan Raiola prepares to step onto the field for the season opener. They've also solidified their position by securing their star signal-caller from the 2025 class, TJ Lateef. And now, with an official offer extended to one of the best in the 2026 class, they're actively scouting for the next generation of elite passers.
Nebraska football makes step towards future of QB position with new offer
The Huskers have already taken steps to ensure they have a quarterback all lined up for the 2026 class. That step included keeping a family legacy with an offer to Dayton Raiola. However, it appears Matt Rhule isn't putting all his eggs in the Raiola basket.
Earlier this week, Semaj Beals got an official offer from Nebraska, as the Huskers became the 23rd team to enter the race for the Philadelphia quarterback officially. The Huskers are the latest program to come calling, but there are schools from all over the country showing interest.
Akron, Alabama, Boston College, Charlott, Colorado, Connecticut, Duke, Florida A&M, Illinois, Indiana, James Madison, Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, USC, Utah State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, UNLV are all trying to land Beals. The good news so far is that Nebraska football doesn't have any team on that list they can't overcome.
The Huskers might have an ace in the hole what with Semaj Beals now becoming the third in what could be a line of the best quarterbacks in their prospect classes.
The Next step is getting Beals to come check out what Nebraska football has to offer. Once he does that, it might be hard not to pull the trigger then and there.
