As we roll closer and closer to the Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball season, star outside hitter Harper Murray is trying her best to put everything that happened this spring and summer behind her.

She’s got the opportunity to do that because after taking care of her legal issues with diversion and probation, the last barrier was whether or not she would be suspended for any matches this fall and winter. And then earlier this week, Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook announced there would be no suspension.

Just a few days after Cook’s announcement, Murray took to social media to try and explain her actions. She also made it clear that she’s still working through things, but wanted Nebraska Cornhuskers fans to be aware she understands what she did isn’t acceptable.

Nebraska Cornhuskers star talks about her ‘ongoing journey’ in wake of legal troubles

“Now that necessary legal procedures have run its course,” Murray wrote in a Twitter post. “I am eager to move forward with my life. But in order to move forward, I want to once again acknowledge the hurt I have caused. The mistakes I have made. And that no one is more disappointed about those mistakes than me.”

“That is why, over the past couple of months, my main focus has been my mental health and making a dedicated commitmentto healing and growing,” she continued. “I want to be the best version of myself not only for me, but for the people who continue to believe and want the best for me. This is an ongoing journey and it doesn’t stop here.”

Murray finished the post by saying that she is going to continue to work on herself and hope that by talking about her situation, it will normalize a conversation about mental health among people her age.

Here’s hoping the Nebraska Cornhuskers star can learn from all this. And hopefully, she can indeed help others who might feel as she did and does.
