A former Nebraska football star is getting yet another shot to show the NFL what he can do. And he’s been given another shot to show the Philadelphia Eagles that he has the skills to stay on the active roster. For now, former Husker tight end Jack Stoll has been promoted from the practice squad to the Eagles’ active roster.

This is Stoll’s second stint with Philly. He previously played there from 2021-2023 before briefly joining the New York Giants this past offseason. However, he never ended up playing a snap for the Giants and was eventually allowed to test the open market. That led him back to the city of brotherly love.

Entering the season, the former Nebraska football star has 20 career receptions for a total of 183 yards. His best season came in 2022 when he started in 11 games and had 11 catches for 123 yards.

It’s no surprise that the Eagles would make a move to resign the tight end once he became available. While he can catch a pass when it’s needed, Stoll’s best value is as a blocker. Especially in the run game. That’s a place Philly has focused so far this season as the team ranks third in the NFL for the 2024 season so far.

Ex-Nebraska football star signs with Philadelphia again

Stoll played with the Huskers from 2017 to 2020 and amassed 61 catches for 657 yards and 6 touchdowns over his NU career.

His best season with the Nebraska football team was the 2019 campaign when he had 25 receptions for 234 yards and 1 touchdown.
