Dylan Raiola's command of the offense is 'unheard of,' says Greg Schiano
Since he took his first snap for the Nebraska football team, Dylan Raiola has been impressing people left and right. He's rarely looked like a freshman. He led the Huskers to a touchdown on the very first drive he played in.
Since that very first drive, he's continued to show that when the Huskers were excited to land the former 5-star prospect when he decided against Georgia, they had every right to be over the moon.
He's one of the best freshmen quarterbacks in the country. But more than that, he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country. And so far, he's demonstrated just how good the Nebraska football team could have been even last year, if they'd had a quarterback.
Count Rutgers head coach Brian Schiano among those who is quite impressed by Raiola. He spoke about the freshman during his Monday press conference ahead of playing the Huskers this Saturday. It's clear he knows the Scarlet Knights are going to have their hands full.
Nebraska football's Dylan Raiola has Greg Schiano impressed
"The command that he has of their offense, I would say, is good for any level but for a freshman is unheard of. And he’s a very gifted athlete. He’s big. He’s mobile. He can throw on the move. He can throw from the pocket. There’s not much this guy can’t do but that’s why he was such a highly recruited quarterback, right. He’s got all the tools."
It's been a long time since a Nebraska football quarterback did anyhting "unheard" of unless you're talking about ridiculous numbers of turnovers. Hopefully, Dylan Raiola can continue to impress Schiano on Saturday.
