Dylan Raiola hype machine off the charts as he's already billed as 'Top 5 pick'
From his very first drive, Dylan Raiola wowed Nebraska football fans. In a lot of ways, the freshman signal-caller lived up to all the hype that was piled on him over the offseason. So of course, people are trying to pile even more hype on him.
With a solid performance that saw him win the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, Raiola has already met the next step in his development. This time, it’s about a showdown with another quarterback who is getting all kinds of hype.
More than a few college football analysts are quite excited to see Dylan Raiola and Nebraska football take on Shedeur Sanders and Colorado. One analyst is extra specially excited and he’s driving the hype train something fierce.
Dan Orlovksy took to social media early on Tuesday morning to explain that he believes Raiola v Sanders is the face off between two future high draft picks. “Raiola vs Sanders this week,” Orlovsky wrote. “That’ll be a fun CFB to watch 2 top pick 5 QBs go at each other.”
Dylan Raiola’s Nebraska football hype machine is off the charts
What’s interesting in that tweet is that Raiola has already been elevated to the same level of Sanders, who entered the season as one of the favorites to win a Heisman trophy. He’s long been considered a contender for the top overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
So, is the Huskers’ quarterback already on that level? There are a couple of things to keep in mind with that tweet. The first is that Orlovsky could be joking around a bit, considering that he has seen the talk and excitement around NU’s gunslinger.
Conversely, Orlovsky is close with the Raiola family, having played alongside his father, Dominic, in Detroit. After all, he was the guy who first leaked that the quarterback would commit to Georgia back when the Bulldogs thought they’d scored the 5-star prospect.
So maybe he just really thinks Dylan Raiola is the real deal and that after playing as he did in his first-ever college game, he’s only going to get better. The Nebraska football program would certainly be ok with that.
