While there’s been a lot of talk about the work Nebraska football recruiting is doing when it comes to David Sanders, there’s another top prospect that the Huskers are trying hard to land. And the good news is, it looks like they’ve at least officially got a foot in the door.
Sanders’ visit to Lincoln last weekend was the headliner, but the Huskers also made a great impression on 4-star Oregon commit Isaiah Mozee and 2026 athlete, Brandon Arrington. Now it’s about closing the deal.
Arrington has a ton of big schools coming after him, but after his visit to Lincoln, he told Rivals’ Tim Verghese that things were quite special with the Nebraska football team. In fact, he was blown away by the treatment he got form head coach Matt Rhule.
‘Coolest guy in the world’ Nebraska football coach makes big impact on top target
“Coach Rhule is the coolest guy in the world man,” Arrington said after the trip. “We were hooping, he kind of hooped me up a little."
At 6-foot-3, and 175 pounds, Arrington is the No. 3 athlete in the 2026 class and the fastest high school prospect in the state of California. His blazing speed allowed him to win the state championship in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash earlier this spring.
While Rhule made a strong impression on Arrington, it’s Nebraska football defensive coordinator that has really forged a relationship with the prospect. White has visited Arrington's school twice in the last two years to see the speedster. Arrington finally returned the favor and came to Lincoln.
While the Huskers are now firmly in the mix, they have steep competition. Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Michigan are all trying to land the No. 7 player in the state. Now that Nebraska football has gotten Brandon Arrington to town, they’ve got to turn up the pressure.
