The bowl games today might be the best games of the day that aren't going to factor into the college football playoffs. It helps that the first game of the day features two of the better squads in the country.

2023 is almost over, but before New Year's Eve, there are going to be some Power 5 programs facing off against one another a couple of times in the bowl games today. There is, of course, one game that almost no one who doesn't have money on it is going to care about the winner or the score.

Anyone who has paid any attention to bowl season knows that means that game is likely going to be the best of the entire day.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl kicks off the bowl games today

Two Top 15 teams will do battle at 11am on ESPN later this morning. It will also be a bit of a "conference bragging rights" game considering that the Penn State Nittany Lions are going to represent the Big 10 against Ole Miss and the SEC. Nebraska football fans might want to root this one time for James Franklins' boys.

TransPerfect Music City Bowl

Yet another Big Ten team is featured in one of the bowl games today as Maryland takes on Auburn at 1pm. A 7-5 team fighting off a 6-6 team is hardly prime time viewing, but there's enough offense featured in this contest that it could be a very, very good game.

Capital One Orange Bowl

The Orange Bowl should have been one of the most interesting matchups of any game this month, let alone one of the best bowl games today. Instead, a small army of Seminoles are sitting out the game and Georgia is expected to absolutely roll Florida State. For those who want to watch a blowout, they can tune to ESPN at 3pm.

Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl

When the Georgia-Florida State game turns ugly, those who still want to watch some football, they'll be able tune into the CW and watch 11-2 Toledo take on 8-4 Wyoming at 3:30pm. This is the last of the bowl games today because of Prime Time NFL games. For those who love G5 teams, this game could be very, very interesting.
