While the Nebraska softball team knew its chances of getting the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament were slim, they were there. However, considering all the Huskers did is take care of business not only this weekend but the last 21 games, Rhonda Revelle's squad falling all the way to a No. 4 seed can be considered quite the snub.

As the Sunday Selection show unfolded, it became obvious that the SEC was getting quite a bit of love from the committee. Alabama, who lost in the SEC Title Game this weekend were handed the top seed. They were followed by the Texas Longhorns as the overall No. 2 team. The Oklahoma Sooners then became the third SEC school in the top three.

Nebraska softball got dropped to the No. 4 overall seed despite a dominant finish and title run.

Nebraska softball players and coaches have a right to feel snubbed. It's hard to accept they did what they did and finish behind several teams that didn't win their conference tournament. The Sooners especially has to sting, since OU didn't even make it to the SEC Tournament final.

However, it's worth pointing out that the Huskers play very good softball when they have a chip on their shoulders. Keep in mind the All-Big Ten team was announced as the tournament began and the Huskers were almost entirely left off the first team.

Rhonda Revelle can use Nebraska softball’s latest snub as fuel for Oklahoma City

Now that snub is official, it's officially time to turn attention to getting to the Women's College World Series. The road to Oklahoma City will start off against the team that knocked off Omaha in the Summit Softball Tournament. The Huskers will take on South Dakota on Friday at 5:30 pm. On the other side of the Lincoln regional is Louisville taking on Grand Canyon.

While Nebraska did definitely get snubbed on Selection Sunday, there's still plenty of good news, including the ability to host the Super Regional and make a run through the tournament.
