The Indiana Hoosiers have plenty of weapons. Aly VanBrandt offers a real problem with both power and a batting average over .400 to vex the Nebraska softball team. Avery Parker adds even more pop, leading IU with 19 homers. Ella Troutt and and Aubree Hooks are both pitchers that can shut down an offense. And yet, there's one thing that likely worries Rhonda Revelle on Friday morning more than anything.

Thanks to the oddity that is today's mega-conferences, NU and IU didn't face off in the regular season. The unknown is the Hoosiers' biggest weapon heading into Friday.

Rhonda Revelle knows Nebraska softball is facing an Indiana team it has not seen

Nebraska has rolled through the 2026 season like a bulldozer and has only lost one Big Ten conference game. But that's not the armor it was on Thursday against Michigan, considering the Hoosiers aren't one of the squads the Huskers left in their wake.

There's the added worry that Indiana looked quite dominant in their tournament win on Thursday, easily dispatching the Washington Huskies, 9-2. Meanwhile, Jordy Frahm and company got the victory over the Wolverines, but it seemed to be more difficult than it needed to be with the 4-2 win.

Rhonda Revelle needs Nebraska softball ready for Indiana’s power and pitching depth

Indiana also happens to join Nebraska as one of the four teams in the Big Ten who won 40 games this season. The Hoosiers are legitimately good and pose a real road block for the Huskers. Granted, when talking about the conference tournament semifinals, there's very few easy opponents.

Nebraska will need to come into Friday evening's game ready for anything Indiana throws at it. Husker fans can watch and see how much "the unknown" causes problems at 5 pm on Friday on the Big Ten Network.
