The regular season has officially wrapped up, and the postseason is beginning for Nebraska softball, and it feels like a win-it-all or bust for the Huskers. After coming out of the Baton Rouge Regional and losing to Tennessee in the Knoxville Super Regional, head coach Rhonda Revelle knew what she had to do for the 2026 season.

Revelle knew she needed to load up the 2026 schedule with top opponents in order to help the Huskers secure not just hosting a Regional, but a Super Regional as well. Nebraska did just that, and ended the regular season earning a No. 2 ranking across four of the major college softball polls, a Big Ten regular season title, and having the toughest non-conference schedule in the country.

Is it enough to a top-eight seed though?

Nebraska softball has done everything it can to earn hosting a Super Regional

The Huskers ended the regular season with a 43-6 record, 23-1 in Big Ten play, and an 18-game win streak. The Huskers loaded up their non-conference schedule with elite opponents such as Texas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech, among others.

Nebraska is certainly hosting a regional this postseason, but will this all be enough to host a Super Regional as a top-eight seed? Head coach Rhonda Revelle believes it is.

"I think that in this moment in time, today, that we have done everything we can, based on our schedule and our results, to be in a position to get us where we want to go," Revelle said. "So, yes."

Nebraska went nearly perfect in Big Ten play, dropping just one game to then No. 7 UCLA, but still ended up winning the series, and with only one conference loss, that earned the Huskers a Big Ten regular-season title. Now, as the one-seed, the Huskers are in search of a tournament title.

Nebraska may not need to win a Big Ten Tournament game to qualify for Super Regional hosting

It seems like the Huskers have done everything they have needed to in order to host their first-ever Super Regional in Lincoln, and all that is left is to win the Big Ten Tournament and make it past the Regionals round. Of course, Nebraska has to make it past their own Regional in order to host a Super Regional, or be like LSU last season, who lost in their own Regional.

The Big Ten Tournament is underway, but the Huskers won't be set to play until Thursday, May 7, receiving a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed.
