A win over Washington would matter plenty, but Nebraska is also trying to win over its next class.

On Halloween night, the Nebraska football team obviously wants to win on the field. However, there's more at stake than just the sixth win of the regular season. The game against the Huskies will be a massive one on the recruiting front, and a ton of that recruiting work will come in the 2028 class.

For the second year in a row, NU is staging a Blackout game complete with black uniforms, and black balloons. It's also the second straight year the Blackout game has been used as a massive recruiting vehicle. This time, 35 different prospects, both commits and uncommittted alike will be in Lincoln to see the Huskers take on Washington.

Nebraska's 35 visitor that include 22 4-star or better recruits. That's a follow up of the more than 25 visitors who were in town for Indiana earlier this month. This will be back-to-back recruiting weekends for the Huskers with 20+ blue-chip recruits.

Twelve members of Nebraska’s 2027 class are on the list, headlined by 5-star quarterback Trae Taylor. 4-star safety Tory Pittman, 4-star interior lineman Jordan Agbonoma, 4-star running back Amir Brown, 4-star defensive lineman Nehemiah Ombati, and 4-star cornerback Jailen Hill round out the group’s biggest names.

Six 3-star commits will also be in the building: Barrett Kitrell, Matt Erickson, Jayden Travers, Eli Harris, Ma’atoe Moe, and Joey Hunter.

The 2028 group is made up of 15 4-stars prospects and Geep Wade will be in the spotlight as a large group of  offensive line targets will see Nebraska such as  tackles Vincent Shields (CA), Declan Heying (IA), Kajus Muralis (IL), and Amaree Joshua (GA), plus interior lineman Josiah Eney (MD).

Nebraska will also host 4-star defensive linemen Isaac Kalubi Lukini (ON) and Brynnen Thompson (DE), edge rushers Steven McClendon (GA) and Owen Price (NE), and linebacker Nazeree Guy (TX). Tight ends Xevien Brinson (GA) and Israel Johnigan (MO), wide receiver Ryan Richmond-McDavis (CO), running back Noel Washington (CA), and cornerback Kia Jones Jr. (PA).

Last year, Nebraska ran its big recruiting Blackout weekend against USC and while they ended up losing the game, it was very successful on a recruiting front. This year, the Huskers will hope to get more than a few wins in their recruiting efforts and a big win on the field that would help NU clinch a bowl berth right out of their bye week.
