Halloween weekend has long been a major recruiting weekend for the Nebraska football team. While two highly hyped prospects will no longer be in Lincoln on October 31, the Huskers haven’t lost much ground. Instead of coming to town this weekend, another game against Ohio State is shaping up to be a massive recruiting window.
Hurrdat Sports analyst Tim Verghese recently discussed changes in plans for Zylan Little and Deonte Flemings. Both are among the top targets for the Huskers, with Fleming already committed to Penn State but looking elsewhere.
Verghese said Little has been in contact with Nebraska almost daily since they were allowed to contact him directly. He was one of the top targets expected to come to Lincoln for the game against Washington. He’ll now check out the Ohio State game on November 21 instead.
Flemings, a defensive back target that NU has worked hard to flip from Penn State, originally insisted on coming to town for the Blackout game. However, he’s now seeing another team this weekend and will also check out the Huskers for their final home game of the year.

Nebraska football reschedules key visits for Zylan Little and Deonte Flemings
The November 21 game is becoming quite the showcase as the Huskers recently locked in a visit from running back Rocky Sharp for that game. Sharp is one of the top prospects in the 2029 class and is seeing his recruitment take off big time.
Little is a 4-star defensive lineman in the 2028 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman plays for Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida. Little lines up primarily on the interior of the defensive line and has experience at both defensive tackle and nose guard.
Little is ranked as the No. 180 player in the 2028 class, the No. 20 player at his position, and the No. 24 player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Flemings is a 4-star cornerback in the 2028 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2½, 200-pound defensive back plays for McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. Flemings committed to Penn State on January 31, 2026, becoming the first member of the Nittany Lions’ 2028 recruiting class. He has continued to take visits and entertain other programs despite remaining committed to the Nittany Lions.
With both players in the 2028 cycle, changing visits to later this year isn’t a big blow. Nebraska will still have plenty of time to convince them that the Huskers are where both talented defenders need to end up.
