The Nebraska football team’s roster for 2025 seems set for now. However, there is one more transfer player it’s hoping to land.
The wait for the Huskers might just about be over, as they enter the weekend as the leader for the services of Rocco Spindler according to at least one expert.
The Nebraska footbal team is thought to be going up against the Michigan Wolverines and Indiana Hoosiers, but ON3’s EJ Holland, the Wolverines’ expert recently put in a prediction for NU to win out on the recruiting battle. What is clear with many of the programs already starting their second semester is that Spindler isn’t planning on waiting much longer. It’s thought that he’ll decide his next landing spot by Sunday at the latest.
Nebraska football could be on verge of a big pickup
Holland wasn’t the only expert to pick the Huskers as the eventual home of Spindler, who appeared in 14 games for Notre Dame this past season. NU analyst Bryan Munson has also predicted the Cornhuskers to win this recruiting battle.
Spindler was elevated to a starter in 2024 thanks to injuries on the offensive line. It appears he believes that with one more year of eligibility, the monster interior offensive lineman wants to go somewhere he has a better chance of starting in 2025.
If there is a wrinkle in all of this, its that Spindler could also add a visit to Virginia. The late action there might just be the veteran crossing his t’s and dotting his i’s or it could be the Cavaliers have made a late push. In the era of NIL, there’s always a chance they came up with a bigger bag than any of the other teams in the race.
No matter how it ends, it looks like the contest is about to be over. Nebraska football has had some mixed results when it comes to their portal shopping on the offensive front. Landing Rocco Spindler would be an unmitigated success.
