He was unstoppable on the mat, finishing his high school wrestling career with a spotless record. Even a serious knee injury couldn't slow down this future Nebraska football force.
Wrestling an entire season with a torn ACL, Tyson Terry showcased grit and dominance once again. Now, as he transitions to the gridiron, intense anticipation builds around how this unstoppable competitor will elevate the team’s future success.
Nebraska football signee’s dominance impresses everyone
After the Nebraska football signee ended his high school wrestling career 169-0 and became the state’s only 4-time heavyweight champion, he explained that he put the finishing touches on the 2024-25 season with an injury that will get “cleaned up” next week.
Here's Terry (unprompted) describing what he went through to win gold on a torn ACL:

In the process, he drew quite a few accolades from Husker fans who were paying attention on social media. They ranged from “Tyson Terry isn’t getting enough attention,” to simply “wow!” What’s clear is that this accomplishment has people very excited to see what he can do for the Cornhuskers.
Tyson Terry shocks social media after final bout
“I'm really grateful, really, to be wrestling right now,” Terry said after his final bout of his high school career. “I'm really grateful to be here during football season. That's what I got hurt during that Buena Vista [football] game, and I tore my ACL. So that was something I had to think about. I can't thank enough of the doctors that I've seen for that.”
Terry also said that his wrestling career is coming to an end. He’ll focus on football once the Omaha North athlete heads to Lincoln.
The Nebraska football team has had quite a bit of success of late when it comes to defensive studs who had big-time wrestling careers. Nash Hutmacher is headed to the NFL after his best season ever with the Huskers. If Tyson Terry can mirror his NU career, most would find that a big win.
