For the Nebraska football team, it turns out that Ty Robinson’s domination against Boston College was as impressive as we all thought.
Robinson’s final game for the Huskers reminded some of another Husker defensive tackle great. Robinson did his best Ndamukong Suh impression the way he was getting through the Eagles’ offensive line over and over and over again. And when the smoke cleared, he had some impressive numbers.
While the usual stats show a very good game, a deeper look illustrates that the Nebraska football defensive star had one of the best games of any bowl team. And that was outside of his four tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss a sack and a pass defended. Already plenty impressive from the tackle position.
Nebraska football’s Ty Robinson has impressive outing in Pinstripe Bowl
Robinson had 5 total quarterback pressures according to PFF. Outside of the 1 sack, he had another 4 hurries that led to bad throws. As it turns out, that was the most number of quarterback hurries of any defensive tackle in any bowl game so far.
Granted, there are still several bowls that will go down over the next few days, but Robinson has already got his name up there among the best defenders in college sports this year.
He’s been a disruptive force despite being routinely double teamed. In the Pinstripe Bowl, he showed just how good he can be. And unfortunately, the Nebraska football team will have to find a way to replace him as he’s finally out of eligibility.
