The Nebraska football team is set at quarterback for the next few years, but it's never too early to look to the future. In the forms of Trae Taylor and Dayton Raiola, the Huskers look to be in good hands.

The two young quarterbacks (Raiola, a senior in high school, and Taylor, a junior) are both putting together some impressive seasons. Taylor is putting up some bigger numbers, but the younger brother of Dylan Raiola is making the same Buford squad his brother led, his own team that should march to the playoffs. Both QBs are showing serious growth and looking like massive gets for the Huskers.

Nebraska football QB commits putting up huge 2025 high school seasons

Raiola, a 2026 commit for Nebraska, isn't putting up eye-popping numbers, but he does have 614 passing yards and 8 touchdowns compared to just 2 interceptions. He's completed over 65% of his passes this year. He has even shown an ability to run when needed, with an additional 41 yards rushing.

Raiola's stats would look better if he had been able to play in last week's Buford game against Discovery, which his team won 71-7. Like his older brother, the Huskers' commit's numbers have been impacted by when he doesn't play as much as when he does.

Trae Taylor, on the other hand, is indeed putting up video game numbers through five games in his junior season. He's thrown for 1,158 yards and 18 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions, completing over 80% of his pass attempts. Taylor has added another 209 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground, averaging over eight yards per carry.

The Nebraska football team was plenty excited to see Trae Taylor commit early on as he continues to look like one of the best quarterbacks in the 2027 class. Both of the following quarterback commits have put up performances that Matt Rhule and his staff, as well as all Husker fans, have to be excited about.
