Tory Pittman was already considered the top prospect in Nebraska for the 2027 class. Still, the Omaha Central star keeps proving why the Huskers pulled off a coup by keeping him at home.

This past weekend, Pittman helped his team to an astonishing 31-28 upset over Omaha Westside. The top-ranked 2027 Husker commit had a receiving touchdown in the first half and an interception defensively late to help seal the big win. Friday was Central's first win over Westside since 2009, and Westside's first home loss in over a half-decade.

Tory Pittman keeps showing the talent Nebraska football treasures

On the defensive side of the ball, Tory Pittman had nine tackles to go along with that pivotal interception. While the Nebraska prospect only had that one reception, the 10-yard touchdown was obviously huge as it ended up being the difference in the game.

On the season, Pittman has just 25 tackles, though some of that is because opposing offenses tend to keep the ball away from him as much as possible. He's also been a key offensive weapon and tends to have a nose for the end zone.

The 5-star prospect has seven catches for 128 yards and four touchdowns. Though it's been evident for a while that when he goes to college, he likely won't be pulling a Travis Hunter and will instead stay on the defensive side of the ball.

Pittman, listed at 6-foot-0 and 185 pounds, is very committed to Nebraska; however, it's clear that the Huskers are going to have to fight to keep him in the fold. The defensive back continues to rack up offers from numerous D-I schools, including Colorado, Florida State, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Sacramento State, Tennessee, USC, and Wisconsin.

Pittman is one of four very talented commitments in the Huskers 2027 class. The program is currently ranked No. 4 in the entire country despite struggling a bit in the 2026 cycle. He joins quarterback Trae Taylor, offensive tackle Matt Erickson, and the most recent addition, wide receiver Jabari Watkins.

The Nebraska football continues working on building a fantastic 2027 class and Tory Pittman continues to be one of the crowning jewels of that group.
