Never let it be said that things were ever dull for Nebraska football and tight end Thomas Fidone. After one heck of an up and down 2024, Fidone decided to leave the Huskers this offseason.

However, as it turns out Fidone isn’t looking to play for another college team. He’s looking to go pro instead.

On Thursday afternoon, the full list of underclassmen who declared for the 2025 NFL draft was released. While Fidone hasn’t made any public announcement, his name is among the 70 underclassmen who hope to be selected by an NFL team later this spring.

Fidone is the only Husker on the list, though he is joined by several other Big Ten players.

Abdul Carter, Kobe King and Kevin Winston  from Penn State, Mason Graham, Colston Loveland, Kenneth Grant and Will Johnson from Michigan, Jordan James from Oregon, Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson, UCLA Carson Schwesinger, Josh Simmons from Ohio State, are the other B1G players.

Injuries kept Fidone from contributing much at all for the first few seasons he was with Nebraska but he did start to get better as he got healthier. In 2023 he hauled down 25 passes for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns.

This season, the Huskers’ tight end didn’t find the end zone, but he did post career highs in catches (36) and yards (373) and definitely looked like he took his game to another level once Dana Holgorsen took over as offensive coordinator.

In the Pinstripe Bowl, Thomas Fidone got 5 catches for 50 yards in what is now officially his final game as a member of the Nebraska football team.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether the big tight end gets drafted or has to settle for an undrafted free agent contract. One would think he got a decent enough draft grade if he decided to go pro.
