Since Thomas Fidone first set foot in Lincoln, there wasn’t much doubt that he was going to be a massive asset to the Nebraska football program. Unfortunately, misuse and injuries blunted some of his impact. Even the arrival of a new offensive coordinator couldn’t really fix things the way that he wanted.

That’s why it wasn’t a total shock when Fidone announced he was leaving the Huskers and looking for greener pastures. Originally it looked as though he might be headed to the transfer portal, but it turned out he is looking towards the NFL instead.

Now that Fidone is able to show what he can do in Senior Bowl practices, the former Nebraska football tight end is impressing everyone who is watching him work out. Right at the top of the list of things he’s doing that’s impressing those in attendance, is that he can do things few people realized he could do as well as they thought.

Austin Jacobsen took to social media to share one scouting report from someone who saw Fidone up close and personal.

“At first glance, Fidone looked like a potential block-first tight end, but he shut that thought down quickly. He ran good routes and caught the ball confidently,” one scout wrote. “If practice included live tackling sessions, Fidone would have been a bull in a China shop. He transitioned from receiver to runner quickly while still prepared for contact.”

Daniel Harms, an analyst with The Draft Network didn’t got into as much detail, but he was equally impressed by the former Husker.

“Thomas Fidone is making some money here in Mobile,” the analyst wrote on Twitter.

It’s great to see Thomas Fidone hauling down rave reviews. He’s always looked like someone who could be an impact player in the NFL if he could put it all together.

The former Nebraska football star might be putting it all together now.
