While the Nebraska football team is preparing for a Black Friday showdown with Iowa and then its first bowl game in nearly a decade, one former Huskers who actually remembers what going to a bowl was like, is getting another shot at living out his NFL dreams.

Stanley Morgan played for the Huskers from 2015 to 2018 and appeared in two bowl games for NU over that time period. The wide receiver then made his way to the NFL thanks to signing as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals. And despite being a UDFA, he’s managed to forge a pretty decent career, especially on special teams.

The former Nebraska football star has since spent his NFL career bouncing back and forth from the Bengals’ practice squad and the active roster. However, he’ll now look to kickstart his career with a new team as he was signed by the Tennessee Titans earlier this week and added to their practice squad.

By signing with the Titans, Morgan not only gets his second chance in the league, but he’s reunited with a coach he certainly knows well.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan got the job in Tennessee thanks in large part because of the job he did as the offensive coordinator for the Bengals. It’s a safe bet that Callahan’s familiarity with the former Cornhusker is one of the reasons the Titans added them to his practice squad.

While there isn’t a ton of time left in the season, it will be interesting to see if the former Nebraska football star can make it onto the Titans active roster at some point this season.
