The Nebraska football team is clearly looking to land itself at least one offensive lineman from the transfer portal. To that end, the Huskers are hosting a couple of offensive linemen this week. One of those is in town today in the form of ex-Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett.
However, it looks as though there’s another very talented offensive lineman has just entered the portal. And it would certainly behoove the Huskers to try and get their foot in the door with Monroe Mills.
Mills should be quite attractive to the Nebraska football team considering that he’s a product of a power conference program, after spending the last season with the Louisville Cardinals. The former Oklahoma State and Texas Tech transfer has played 2,335 career snaps and has allowed just 4 career sacks. Those numbers should certainly get the attention of Matt Rhule and company.
Nebraska football could have another offensive lineman target on the radar
More than being good at keeping the defense away from the quarterback, Mills is versatile at the spots where the Huskers need the most help.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive lineman started for two seasons with the Red Raiders before heading to Louisville last season. The lineman allowed just one sack in 2024 while allowing seven pressures. Mills has spent time at left and right tackle in his career.
He graded out as the Cardinals’ No. 2 offensive lineman in 2024, per Pro Football Focus. All of that sounds quite good, especially when compared to the struggles that Pritchett has had over the years.
For whatever reason, the Nebraska football team wasn’t in on Monroe Mills’ recruitment out of high school, but the Columbia, Missouri product should almost certainly be a target for Matt Rhule and company. It’s hardly a stretch to imagine they’ll try and get into the picture.
