February National Signing Day doesn't have the cache of December's. However, the Nebraska football team still landed a player in Dylan Berymon who could be an impact player as a true freshman. Berymon announced his commitment and who he was signing with on Wednesday morning, picking the Huskers in a reportedly tight race over Kentucky.
Berymon announced he was making his pick at 10:30am on Wednesday after spending several weeks looking like an NU lean but still very much keeping other programs in the race. However, even while Florida and some other programs tried to get in the race, it was always about NU and UK.
The Ouachita Parish (La.) defensive tackle has had Nebraska and Kentucky as teams of focus late in his recruiting process, having made January visits to both campuses. The 6-2, 330-pound Berymon checked in at No. 124 in the final Top247 rankings of 2026.
National Signing Day brought Nebraska football a late win for Dylan Berymon in a closely contested race.
With Berymon's commitment on Wednesday, despite a tiny 2026 class, he joins 5-star cornerback Danny Odem at No. 19 and 4-star offensive lineman Claude Mpouma at No. 153 in the Top247 players.
Nebraska now has 11 high school players signed in this 2026 class, with eight already on campus as early enrollees. They're paired with 16 Transfer Portal signees and, at the moment, sit at a roster of 116 players heading into the 2026 season.
Berymon recorded 49 tackles and four sacks in 15 games last season. He also had six quarterback hurries. Those numbers and his size originally landed him on the Texas Longhorns. However, he decommitted this winter and now will play for Nebraska in the Big Ten, instead of the SEC.
Berymon's addition also gives the Nebraska defensive line a boost as it looks to retool with new coaches in Roy Manning and Corey Brown and new players. The defensive line was a genuine weakspot in 2025 and will need to be far more productive in new coordinator Rob Aurich's attack or the Huskers could be in for a long season.
