The Nebraska football team is very close to securing Blue Chip defensive lineman Dylan Berymon.

The Huskers have been locked in a battle with a couple of SEC teams over the last few weeks. Most prominently, NU and Kentucky are said to be the favorites to land his pledge and signature when February rolls around.

On Monday morning, the pendulum swung firmly towards Nebraska. Two Husker insiders for On3, Sean Callahan and Bryan Munson, both made predictions that Berymon will commit to Matt Rhule's squad. Those predictions came within 10 minutes of each other.

Nebraska recruiting trends toward Dylan Berymon after On3 predictions

Those predictions come after the 4-star prospect has been very careful in deciding where he'll play his college ball after initially being locked into the Texas Longhorns.

Berymon has taken numerous visits, which have included Purdue, Texas, Texas Tech, and now Kentucky and Nebraska. He visited the Cornhuskers on January 9 and Kentucky the weekend after. Since those visits, the No. 8 player in the state of Louisiana, according to On3, has been sitting back and making sure he makes the right decision ahead of the February 4 signing day.

Berymon would be a massive get for Nebraska, considering that their most prominent position of need is at the defensive line. They've worked to improve that area through the transfer portal this winter after a tiny 2026 high school class.

However, Nebraska also lost several defensive linemen through transfer or graduation and badly needs to find a way to make it a strength under new defensive coordinator Rob Aurich after it was a pronounced weakness in 2025.
