Dylan Berymon was at one time committed to Texas. However, he and the Longhorns parted ways earlier this fall, so the 4-star defensive lineman did not sign with anyone in December. He is now planning to sign on February 4, and two schools are strong contenders. It looks like Nebraska and Kentucky will duke it out until the bitter end next month.

The Huskers will get the next shot to try to land the big defensive lineman. One need look no further than the defense's performance in the Las Vegas Bowl to know that NU wants to beef up its talent at Berymon's position.

After Berymon visits Nebraska on January 9, he'll check out Kentucky the following weekend. "Right now, it is going to be between Kentucky and Nebraska," Beryman told Rivals' Chad Simmons. "I have an official visit to Nebraska on Jan. 9, then I have one with Kentucky that next week on Jan. 16. Those are my top two schools."

Why Dylan Berymon is a priority for Nebraska football

Nebraska knows that the next month will be a busy one. The transfer portal opens on January 2 and remains open until January 16.

The Huskers will absolutely be looking to add quite a few players. They're also working hard on putting together one of the best 2027 classes in the country.

However, Matt Rhule and company would also love to add a few bodies to a very thin and very small 2026 class. Dylan Berymon would be one heck of an add for Nebraska, both in terms of stature and talent. The visit next weekend will be a big step in that direction.
