With just days to go until signing day, the Nebraska football coaches are champing at the bit as they wait and see if they land talented defensive line target Dylan Berymon.

The pursuit of the 6-foot-1, 330 pound defender has long thought to be between the Huskers and Kentucky. However, in the last few days, there have been a few teams, including the Florida Gators, that have tried to elbow their way in. It doesn't appear to have worked.

Berymon was inially scheduled to take a visit to Gainesville this past weekend to see what new new Alex Golesh had to offer. However, according to the No Block No Rock podcast, the Louisiana native canceled his visit, seemingly sending a signal that his choice will still come down to Nebraska or Kentucky.

Dylan Berymon's canceled Florida visit bodes well for Nebraska

The battle for the talented defensive lineman has been a pitched battle between the Huskers and Wildcats. However, at the moment, Matt Rhule and his crew are the leaders in the clubhouse.

Should NU manage to pull in Berymon, it would be a massive recruiting win for several reasons. The first is that the Louisiana native was once a commit to the Texas Longhorns, demonstrating that he's been a hot commodity in the 2026 class. The 4-star prospect would also fill a position of deep need for Rhule and his staff, who are hoping to reshape a defensive line that was an obvious weakness in the 2025 season.

Nebraska also really needs as many recruiting wins as possible right now. The way the team finished the season has Husker fans more than a little frustrated.
