The Nebraska football team has continued to try to flip Syracuse commit Kamron Wilson. As part of those efforts, the Huskers will host the EDGE for a third time during the game against the Michigan Wolverines. That makes the Big Ten opener for Matt Rhule's squad that much bigger, as they've been working on the Florida prospect for quite some time.
The Huskers first got Wilson on campus in the spring, just a few weeks after making an early commitment to Syracuse. However, while he gave his pledge to the ACC school, he was still plenty impressed by what he saw in Lincoln, including the facilities.
Nebraska football to host top Syracuse commit Kamron Wilson during Michigan game
The Nebraska football team impressed Wilson enough that he came back for an official visit in June. That's noteworthy if only because he's taken just four official visits to the Huskers, Mississippi State, UCF, and Syracuse. Now he'll be back for that third visit on September 20.
As Power Four programs made runs at the four-star, Syracuse doubled down, getting him on campus back-to-back weekends in June and making it known to him they won't be letting him go easily. Still, the Huskers have stayed in regular contact, and he continues to hear from the Huskers' coaches, including linebacker coach Phillip Simpson.
While the Nebraska football team clearly has a special place in Kamron Wilson's heart, a flip doesn't feel imminent considering the Orange are still high on his list as well. This is one of those fights that will go down to signing day in December.
