As the Nebraska football team gets ready for the bulk of its season, it's also spending plenty of time working on future squads. With a nice start to the 2027 class, it will continue to pursue some of the best players in that class, including a teammate of commit Larry Miles, Frederick Ards.

Miles, who committed to the Huskers over the summer, will no doubt be a player in trying to get Ards to see all that Lincoln has to offer. Ards is listed as a 4-star prospect with a recruiting rating of 93.71 in 247Sports' composite system. He is ranked as the No. 18 edge rusher and No. 11 player from the talent-rich state of Florida. He is also ranked as the No. 153 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

Frederick Ards to visit Nebraska in October as Huskers chase elite 2027 EDGE

The Nebraska football team will get a visit from the EDGE in October, but will also have quite the fight with power teams to try to score the prospect. Ohio State and Michigan State in the Big Ten are two of the biggest pursuers.

Should the Huskers pull him out of Florida to come play with Miles, they'll also need to fight off Miami and the Gators. They'll undoubtedly be able to show Ards everything the Nebraska football team has to offer. It stands to reason that Miles will be in town at the same time to make sure he's getting the hard pitch. The team's 2027 class continues to look like it could be one of the best in years and the best of Matt Rhule's regime.
