The Nebraska football team is officially on a roll. After scoring two commits to end June, Matt Rhule and company scored a talented wide receiver from Florida in Larry Miles.

The recruitment of Miles has been an interesting one because there was a time when the Huskers were little more than an afterthought. He took an unofficial visit on his way to check out another program, and then, impressed by what he saw, he took an official visit just a few weeks later.

That official visit was enough for the Nebraska football team to become a frontrunner all of a sudden. Such a frontrunner that when he announced he was committing to open in July, more than a few experts pegged the Huskers as the big winner over Kentucky and Pittsburgh.

Nebraska is certainly a great fit for Miles. He'll be able to compete for a spot on the field as a freshman, as it doesn't appear the Huskers will do much more recruiting at the position after Miles and the previous commitment. However, like Miles, Nebraska visited for the final visit weekend in June. The receiver flipped from Arizona State to Nebraska.

The other wide receiver commitment, Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, is a different kind of commitment, where his spot in the class relies on him showing that he has fully recovered from a brutal knee injury.

Even if all three join the fold, Miles will get the chance to show what he can do. While he's technically only a 3-star prospect according to On3's Industry Rankings, he's thought to be someone who can really shine in his senior season and take off as far as prospect rankings go.

Granted, it's not as though his junior season was lacking. In 2024, he tallied 68 catches for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns. Improving on that will undoubtedly impress.

Larry Miles is officially the 12th commitment in the Huskers' 2026 class. While it's still struggling mightily to even break into the nation's Top 50, things are picking up.

The wide receiver is the 7th player to give his pledge to the Nebraska football team since June 15, and alongside Leon Noil Jr. and Claude Mpouma, the third in the last two days.
