Nebraska’s July commitment calendar could turn into a tidal wave

While the Nebraska football is stuck at just 9 commits in the 2026 class, things could pick up in a big way over the next few weeks. The action could in fact, start on June 30 and then really get rolling into July. When the smoke clears and the Huskers are just a few weeks away from Fall Camp, there’s a chance that list could have grown from 9 to 16 if all goes well.

The festivities could mean that things will kick off with the Huskers landing offensive tackle Claude Mpouma but that’s almost certainly not where it stops. In fact it’s possible that NU could get two commits in two days once July begins.

Nebraska football looking to celebrate July 4 week with some big commits

Larry Miles

Larry Miles’ two visits to Lincoln in one month — the second being an official visit — showed just how strongly the 3-star wideout is considering the Huskers. Pittsburgh and Kentucky are also in the running, but Nebraska appears to be in the front runner for a commitment when he announces on July 1.

Devin Jackson

Devin Jackson’s high school teammate, Danny Odem, chose Nebraska after his official visit but it doesn’t appear that the 4-star safety will follow suit. While the Huskers are still hoping to hear their name called on July 3, it’s more likely he’ll pick the Oregon Ducks.

Darion Jones

Darion Jones is the next in-state prospect who is expected to announce his commitment to the Nebraska football team. Iowa got the final official visit from Jones adding some intrigued to his July 4 announcement, but the Cornhuskers are still the frontrunners among most recruiting analysts.

Leon Noil

The 3-star offensive tackle appears to be another big get for OL coach Donovan Raiola. Leon Noil is set to announce his school of choice on July 7. Mississippi State and Baylor are also in the running and there’s some talk that the Bulldogs have made progress of late.

Jacob Eberhart

A 4-star linebacker, Jacob Eberhart will choose between Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma when he makes his pick on July 12. The Huskers are among the favorites, but the Sooners are considered the real front runner for now.

Calvin Thomas

There is at least a chance that the Nebraska football team could score a couple of big wins on July 12. In addition to Eberhart, Calvin Thomas will pull the trigger on his pledge. Thomas’ decision is set to come down to the Huskers and the Texas Longhorns. At the moment, it’s still very much a tossup as to who might win.
