The top contenders have emerged for Pittsburgh Pine-Richland 4-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor and he cemented them on Friday afternoon. Taylor told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett that Colorado, Georgia, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, and Syracuse are his top six schools.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is the No. 73 overall prospect and No. 16 WR in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He's also the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania. Taylor was committed to Penn State but decided to reopen his recruiting. At the same time, the Nittany Lions were busy shuffling their coaching staff.

Now, Nebraska has a chance to really steal him away from Penn State and others as he's set a spring trip to Lincoln on March 7. However, despite the fact that NU is one of the leaders, there's plenty more fight left.

Khalil Taylor's spring visit gives Nebraska football a real shot at a 4-star wide receiver

The wide receiver prospect has already set official visits with Colorado (May 15), Georgia (May 29), PSU (June 5), and Syracuse (June 19).

The fight for Taylor could eventually come down to Nebraska and Penn State. He went back to Happy Valley in January to meet with new head coach Matt Campbell, and the new staff made a good impression.

"I mean, the love man. I love this new staff," Taylor told Blue and White Illustrated's Ryan Snyder after visiting PSU for junior day last month. "They are very caring, and they bring a different type of energy. I asked some players about the new staff, and they said they love them as well. Like, they are super hyped for this season."

In his junior season, Khalil Taylor turned 33 receptions into 571 yards and 16 touchdowns. It's clear why Nebraska and others are keen on landing the promising target. This recruitment will go down to the wire.
