Even if, and maybe especially if, Matt Rhule doesn't leave Nebraska for Penn State, the Huskers' head coach knows there's plenty of talent to pluck - including wide receiver Khalil Taylor- from the Nittany Lions.

In the wake of Happy Valley searching for a new head coach after firing James Franklin, plenty of teams have come calling for some serious talent that was committed to Penn State. Almost all of that talent has started looking towards greener pastures. Taylor is undoubtedly one of those, and he's seeing a lot of green when looking towards Lincoln.

Taylor took a visit to Nebraska for their game against Northwestern, and according to Bryan Munson of Rivals, the 4-star former Penn State commit absolutely loved what he saw. Among the things that stood out was how powerful a duo he and 2027 Huskers quarterback commit Trae Taylor could become if they were teammates.

Khalil Taylor visits Nebraska and connects with Trae Taylor

Taylor, the No. 4 player, No. 12 wide receiver, and No. 72 player in the 2027 class, decommitted from the Nittany Lions on October 10. Since then, he's had a ton of schools come calling, but the Cornhuskers have stood out. Rhule, having a background in Pennsylvania, has worked well for him in this player's pursuit.

There's an added bonus that the two Taylors will be teammates in several 7-on-7 competitions over the next few months. That will give Trae plenty of time to get into Khalil's head and explain why Nebraska should be his final landing spot.

It's going to be a long fight. There are plenty of other Power Conference schools that will come calling. Khalil Taylor will likely take his time after decommitting from PSU earlier this month.

However, Nebraska is in excellent standing. It continues to have a ton of success when looking ahead to the 2027 recruiting cycle.
