The Nebraska football program had quite a Monday afternoon/evening on the recruiting front. Not only did they score a 4-star cornerback that was pursued by the likes of Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Penn State, but they also nabbed a running back prospect considered quite a bit better than his star rating. Count quarterback commit Trae Taylor among those who showed his joy over the recruiting win on Monday night.
Taylor has been working overtime on peer recruiting since he committed to the Huskers himself. He's known Odem for a while despite playing their regular-season ball in separate states. The four-star quarterback in the 2027 class had at least something to do with closing the deal with the defensive back.
Nebraska football adds 4-star corner and dynamic back in Monday spree
"Let's Gooo this is huge," the future gunslinger for the Nebraska football team said. He then explained he was a teammate with Odem at the junior football camp in Orlando, The 24K Organization.

Taylor will also be teammates with Rule at some point, and it seems like he should be equally excited about that commitment. The Charlotte native has coaches so excited that of the three running backs who NU had planned to bring in for official visits this month—DeZephen Walker (Oklahoma), Brian Bonner, and Rule—it was the 3-star prospect who the Huskers liked the best.
Rule's first Power 4 offer came from the Cornhuskers, which played a big part in his pulling the trigger for NU on Monday, even as other teams came calling.
NU's running backs coach, EJ Barthel, had visited Rule at his school multiple times before sharing a game-day visit this fall and last week's final and crucial official visit.
"Coach EJ took a chance on me, so I'll forever be grateful," Rule said earlier this month.
Once again, it's not just that the Nebraska football coaches are scoring talented players. It's that they're getting guys that really want to be a part of the Cornhuskers. That could be big in the near future.
