When Conor Booth was the third commit for the Nebraska football team’s 2025 commit, more than a few people wondered if his recruitment was more about getting a homegrown kid than it was about getting a player who could contribute right away. Booth is proving that those jaundiced evaluations were not remotely correct.

Booth is having himself a record-setting season running over, around and through defenses for Bishop Newman. Through eight games this season, Booth has run for 2,061 yards and 38 touchdowns. He’s also averaged 13 yards per rush and 257.6 yards per game.

The Nebraska football commit, who was once an afterthought is putting up the kind of numbers that could catch the attention of other big programs. Luckily, the running back announced he’d shut down his recruitment in September.

The idea of shutting down his recruitment was likely so that he could focus on his season. It appears that decision was very, very smart.

In 35 varsity games, he’s run for 5,198 yards and 87 touchdowns. He also averages 11.9 yards per rush and 148.5 yards per game for his career.

Nebraska football’s class of 2025 holds 20 commitments and is ranked No. 23 in the nation according to two of the major recruiting sites. There are two running backs in the 2025 class, Conor Booth and four-star prospect Jamarion Parker of Saint Louis, MO. Those two gets could both be ones that stand out for years to come.
