Not only was Saturday a good day for the Nebraska football team, but it was a near-perfect day for former Husker Nate Boerkircher. The tight end is now a member of the Texas A&M Aggies. While he hasn't had a significant impact on the Aggies' offense, he had the biggest impact on their win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Boerkircher first got to watch his former NU teammates romp to another win over Houston Christian on Saturday morning. Then he got to help his new team improve to 3-0 and make a real statement that the Aggies are a College Football Playoff contender.

The Aggies and Irish engaged in one heck of a battle on Saturday night that ended with Texas A&M winning 41-40. The SEC school was put in a position to win when the Irish scored a touchdown late in the game but a fumbled snap meant they didn't get the extra point. The miscue allowed an opening for the former Nebraska football tight end to play hero.

A&M quartebrackMarcel Reed then led his team down the field before it looked like their drive might die just 11 yards away from the end zone. However, on 4th and goal, Reed found Boerkircher, who had gotten good position in the end zone over linebacker Drayk Bowen.

When the former Nebraska football tight end made the catch, it allowed the Aggies to get a big victory over the No. 8 team in the country on their home field. Considering it was just his third catch of the season, Nate Boerkircher is picking his spots very wisely.
