The Nebraska football team is 3-0 for the second season in a row. That alone could be one of the numbers that stand out from the Huskers' 59-7 victory over the Houston Christian Huskies. Before 2024, it had primarily been unheard of over the last decade for an NU squad to win its first three games of the season.

However, because we're now in Year 3 of the Matt Rhule era, there are plenty of other numbers that stand out even more. Check out the numbers that are most interesting in the wake of the Cornhuskers' latest win.

113 is the magic scoring streak number

The Nebraska football team allowed Cincinnati to score a touchdown late in the 4th quarter of the season opener. After that, the Huskers went on an epic scoring streak that saw them score 113 straight points.

NU beat Akron 68-0 and then took a 45-0 lead over HCU before the Huskies finally scored. What's even more impressive and heartbreaking about that streak is that if not for an awe-inspiring run on a play that looked bottled up by Xai'Shaun Edwards for 45 yards. That play gave the FCS school the only points scored against Nebraska in the last two weeks.

100 yards passing is a difficult task against Nebraska football

The Huskers' defense has, for the most part, played very well so far this season. There's been some problems every now and then stopping the run, but they've been quite impressive against the pass.

For the third straight game, NU did not allow a 100-yard passer. In fact, they have yet to allow 70 yards passing by any team this season. Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby has the most of any quarterback the Cornhuskers have faced, and he had just 69 yards.

0 is the biggest number for Nebraska and Dylan Raiola

Three games into the season and quarterback Dylan Raiola has yet to throw an interception. Some of that may be due to the fact that he's sat out all or more of the second half of the last two games, but most of it is due to his making good decisions over and over again.

Some might also claim a relatively easy schedule is why he's got 8 touchdown passes and zero picks, but sometimes, playing against cupcakes makes it too easy to turn it over.

The Nebraska football quarterback threw his first interception of the season last year in Week 3 against Northern Iowa. He's been perfect so far in 2025.
