As the Nebraska football team continues working on its 2027 recruiting class, the Huskers have made some serious headway with 3-star linebacker Matthew Brady. In fact, after taking a trip to Lincoln, the defender seems to have very much liked what he saw.

The defensive star out of Bloomington, Illinois, recently spoke to Tim Verghese of On3 and said that spending a day with Husker defensive coordinator Rob Aurich was an "eye-opening" experience. Brady added that following his unofficial visit last weekend, he's planning a more official one for June.

Matthew Brady says Nebraska football made a strong impression during his latest visit

The  6-4, 220-pounder is impressed with Nebraska, but the Cornhuskers haven't come close to winning the recruiting battle yet. In addition to the Huskers, Brady has offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Army, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wyoming, Illinois State, Lindenwood, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, and Western Illinois.

It appears that NU's biggest fights will be with Big Ten rivals Minnesota, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. Of the four, the Badgers are the only B1G school that doesn't have an official visit laid out as of now.

Matthew Brady gives Nebraska football a real shot, but June could decide everything

The linebacker expects to pay a visit to Michigan State on May 29, and it appears he's looking to take his OV to Lincoln on June 5. He'll then take his official visit to the Golden Gophers on June 12. It's possible that once those visits are wrapped up, he'll pull the trigger on a commitment.
