The Nebraska football team kicked off fall camp earlier this week, and it looks like at least one player has already emerged banged up. Freshman wide receiver Larry Miles suffered some sort of foot or leg injury, and he showed off the aftermath on his Instagram account. For now, that's the only mention of what happened to the freshman wideout.
The short video, posted in Miles' Instagram stories, is just a quick shot of the true freshman wearing a walking boot. Alongside the reveal of the lower body injury, he added the caption, "Minor setback for a major comeback, God got me!" Of course, the worst part of that particular post might be the admission that it will take a "major comeback"
As a general rule, these kinds of injury posts are not good news. However, Nebraska football fans may focus more on the minor setback part of the post. Wearing that boot can be something as simple as a sprained ankle and as complicated as an injury to his Achilles tendon.
Husker head coach Matt Rhule may be able to shed light on just what happened the next time he meets with the media. For now, there's just wishing and hoping that the true freshman's injury won't set back his first season in Lincoln too much.
Larry Miles reveals apparent lower-body injury at Nebraska football camp
The good news for the Cornhuskers is that it's not clear how much of an impact Miles would be able to have on this season. NU's wide receiver corps is one of the best and deepest that it's been in the last decade at least. One of the reasons there's so much excitement about the unit is because it feels as though most of the starters have already cemented themselves before fall camp began.
On the other hand, the young wideout has talent to spare. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound consensus 3-star wide receiver from Jones High School (Orlando, FL) put up some serious numbers before signing with Nebraska. Miles caught 96 passes for 1,168 yards and 11 touchdowns during his 2025 senior season at Jones. He recorded 67 receptions for 1,189 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior, giving him 163 catches for 2,357 yards and 21 touchdowns over two seasons at Jones.
He also had plenty of teams calling for him before he picked the Huskers. Last year, Miles received offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, UCF, and Wisconsin, among many others.
For now, Larry Miles' Nebraska football career is in a holding pattern until he recovers from this injury and can get back on the field.
