One day after the Nebraska football team got a commitment from 4-star interior offensive lineman Jordan Agbanoma, the Huskers struck again. On Thursday evening, Agbanoma's high school teammate KD Jones pulled the trigger for Matt Rhule and Co.

It's not even that the two players are on the same team. Jones and Abanoma are on the same offensive line. After giving his pledge to NU, the 3-star prospect made it clear that it was part of the reason he wanted to play his college ball in Lincoln.

“Expect violence for sure,” Jones told On3's Tim Verghese. “It’s going to be real, real good teaming up again, that we can take our dominance from high school and take it to the next level.”

Nebraska’s pursuit of Jones developed quickly. The Huskers offered in April and got him to town on May 5 for a multi-day visit. Though he hadn’t been to Lincoln before, he’s gotten to know offensive line coach Geep Wade and run game coordinator Lonnie Teasley well from their time at Georgia Tech and South Carolina, respectively.

He was supposed to set up official visits to other schools, including Wade's former employer, Georgia Tech. However, after Nebraska put on a full-court press, it became apparent to the prospect that Lincoln was where he wanted to play his college ball.

The new offensive line coaches have talked a good game this winter and spring about reshaping their units, and they've also had plenty of success on the recruiting front. Not only did he land his second offensive line commit in as many days, but the Cornhuskers also secured some serious talent through the Transfer Portal. Tree Babalade, Brendan Black, and Paul Mubenga are all slated to get plenty of playing time in 2026. Wade and Teasley are likely not done quite yet; several top targets from their board are still available, including offensive tackle Timi Aliu.

Aliu, especially, would be a nice addition to this group, both because of his talent as a 4-star prospect and because it would mean that Nebraska was reloading on both the interior and outside of the offensive line.

Between the last two commits, as well as defensive back Corey Hadley Jr, NU continues to establish a really interesting Peach State pipeline. They've also had some success in previous years, raiding Georgia,, but the 2027 class could be a legitimate raid. If the Huskers can also land tight end Joey Hunter, it would mean three players from the state this cycle and three players from the same high school in Logansville.

Nebraska has looked like a team ready to go on a real heater in June. That hot streak began a bit earlier, just a little over a week before the party was really supposed to begin. Considering how much concern there's been over the recruiting, especially a very small 2026 class, this summer could be a big one to establish momentum heading into the fall and December.
