Kaden Howard might be under the radar for now, but Nebraska is among a number of schools fighting for his services, and that list will only grow. The good news here is that if and when that list does grow, the Huskers will have a big foot in the door, considering he named them among the Top 7 schools he's now considering for his commitment.

247Sports Tom Loy talked with Howard about the schools he's decided to leave standing. Along with NU, the "three-phase" athlete is considering Louisville, Missouri, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, and Minnesota.

Nebraska has been ramping up its recruiting over the last month, looking to bring in some of the best players at their position in the 2027 class. Howard's rank doesn't have him up there, but it's clear coaches are noticing he'll be a big part of this class.

Nebraska football remains a top contender for versatile athlete Kaden Howard

The Miami Palmetto athlete has the ability to play both wide receiver and defensive back at the next level. How other schools like Nebraska are looking at him are mostly on the offensive side of the ball, but where they ultimately see him in college could be one of the big factors for when he goes from seven to one.

Listed at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, most of Howard's on-field production as a junior came at wide receiver, where he reeled in 25 catches for 520 yards and seven touchdowns. In addition to spending time in the defensive backfield, he's also a solid kick returner, yet another reason why so many big schools have come calling.

Nebraska may have another way to get its foot in the door, as Kaden Howard has a close relationship with Husker receiver Jacorey Barney. It's entirely possible that's a secret weapon that could lead to his commitment before too long.
