After one half of play, the Nebraska football team is tied with the Michigan Wolverines 17-17 and there was plenty of action. The Wolverines in fact, seemingly had the better day in the first half hour right up until the last play before both teams headed to the locker room.
At times, the Huskers looked like the better team, especially when they took their first possession down the field with ease. However, that drive stalled out inside the 10 yard line when they were stuffed on 4th and goal. Then there was the second drive when they missed a field goal.
Michigan meanwhile had two long touchdown runs, including a 75-yarder right after Nebraska tied the game at 10-10 that seemed like the final score of the half, especially when Dylan Raiola was sacked after the ensuing kickoff. Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule had other ideas.

Originally, it looked like Rhule had waved the white flag, allowing the clock to tick down to 23 seconds but then he called a timeout. On the next play, the Huskers ran it into the middle of the line confusing everyone who didn't understand what the clock management was all about. With one second to go in the half, Rhule called another timeout.
That allowed the Cornhuskers to wind up and throw a 52-yard Hail Mary. That pass was a good one, and Jacory Barney first went up to get it and then fell backwards into the endzone to score the tying touchdown.
More than simply tying the game at the half, it gave the Nebraska football team a much needed shot in the arm. Michigan gets the ball after the break and if they had it with the lead, one has to think they'd have all the momentum.
