Two things can be true at once for the Nebraska football team on this Saturday on the last regular season week. The sting of the loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes is strong. Especially since the Huskers dominated most of the game with a stifling defense.
There is also some real excitement from team members who have never seen a bowl game. Members of a program that hasn’t seen a bow game since 2016.
Count superstar defensive tackle Ty Robinson among those who wanted the win on Black Friday badly, but is now already moving onto the good part of the 6-6 season. He’s excited to get started preparing for whatever bowl the Nebraska football team will play in.
Nebraska football turns attention to bowl prep
“Come back on Monday,” Robinson said about what he planned to do in the wake of the Friday loss. “It’s new for me so I don’t really know what to expect. I’m excited to be a part of it, though. I love this program. I love that I get to be able to practice and play football for the next few weeks and get to go to a bowl game.”
“Losing this game doesn’t do justice to see all the success and the strides we’ve made as a team,” Raiola said after the game. “But that’s what it is right now.”
Despite the bad taste in the Nebraska football program’s mouth, it’s time to turn the page. The Huskers are going bowling. Here’s hoping there’s some real improvement between Black Friday and whatever bowl is next.
