The Nebraska football team looked like a team that were going to finish the season with a dominant win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. And then the Huskers did what they've done far too often. They couldn't find a way to close things out.
After building a 10-0 halftime lead, the Huskers didn't score a point in the second half and fumbled away a chance to forge a game winning drive to end the game. When Dylan Raiola was sacked and fumbled, Iowa recovered and kicked the game winning field goal.
After the game, it should come as no surprise that Nebraska football fans had some strong reactions to the loss. A loss that could have been avoided. And a loss that felt too familiar.

Beautiful but ugly game.
Iowa defeats Nebraska, 13-10 with a walk-off field goal in an wonderfully-appropriately beautifully ugly game.

The most Nebraska football and Iowa Hawkeyes game ever.
Iowa wins 13-10 on a 53-yard walk-off field goal after Nebraska fumbled in the last minute.

Both the most Nebraska and the most Iowa thing ever.

Sleeping on the loss didn't make it any less painful. In fact, it might be worse than last night.
I'm not going to lie.

I'm angry today. https://t.co/j3OwkJ82cC
If you care, you're angry about the game.

This whole thing is basically a horror novel.
Stay tuned for my forthcoming self-published non-fiction horror novel, “Nebraska, Nebraska-ing.. : A Retrospective on the last decade of Nebraska football.”

🙄
The Nebraska football team lost a game it should have won. And the team's fans are a little tired of that kind of thing happening. Hopefully the pain will eventually recede and the Huskers will be able to turn its attention to the first bowl game since the 2016 season.
