Nebraska football commit Danny Odem is one of the best prospects the Huskers have in their 2026 class. That's why all the talk that some of the best teams in the country are coming after him should have Matt Rhule and Co. sweating bullets.

Earlier this week, Rivals recruiting analyst Tim Verghese appeared on the Hurrdat Sports podcast, where he detailed that the Huskers should indeed be worried. He also made it clear that one school that's been working hard on Odem is definitely the one that should cause the most concern.

"Clemson was a school I was worried about going into the year," Verghese said. "And then Clemson, having the struggles that they have, has kind of taken them out of this mix. Just in my opinion. So really the biggest threats now are Ohio State and Michigan, and even Ohio State, they've gone by, they've done their due diligence, they had a shot at him, and he's still committed to Nebraska over Ohio State."

It's never great to hear that the Big Ten powers are coming after the Huskers' commit. Especially the Wolverines, who Verghese says have been working on Odem longer than people realize.

"They lost a corner commit in July, like a week after Danny committed to Nebraska. And so they started checking in from that point on. And they've been in touch. They went to visit him a couple weeks ago. And, you know, the expectation is he's going to visit."

There is another school that hasn't gotten as much mention, but Odem took a surprise visit there last weekend.

"He was quietly at Penn State last weekend for the White Out game. I continue to be told that Penn State's not a real threat here."

Nebraska has its work cut out for it. That much is clear. The best teams in the Big Ten coming calling isn't good news. However, the defensive back is still committed to NU. With just a few months until signing day, that's still an important tidbit. This fight will be one to watch all the way up to December.
